"How long does it take a student who wants to attain spiritual consciousness to attain it? I can give you half the answer. A student cannot even start until his goal is no longer that of meeting his personal problems of health or wealth or happiness. The search for God-awareness must become the primary motive of study. Then the spiritual student is halfway home. He must decide that the goal of Christ Consciousness is his only goal and having help for his other problems as being secondary. I am not saying that he should neglect human situations but that these should be secondary. It then might not take a student too long. Attaining that Mind which was also in Christ Jesus should be the primary goal.

More and more students are looking for teachers and tape groups which only use Joel's recorded tapes and books and which teach Infinite Way meditation. As you work with tapes and have questions, please see if there is not something posted here that could give you more insight. The Guestbook is also at your service for questions or comments.
For many years, it was hoped that The Infinite Way could be a study of one community of students all joined by their mutual love and respect for Joel. As you read, you will come to see what has happened in the history of the work. I hope that you will join us in meditating for the reunion of our fellow students and for the illumination of those who are teaching this message. May all become aware of Joel's express wishes for us and adjust the work and websites accordingly. Until then, may I offer you this site for information and background to help you on our holy path. Our goal is enlightenment and illumination. May we become ever brilliant transparencies for the Light of the World.
My experience coming to The Infinite Way over twenty years ago prompted me to share the information here. After reading my first books, Living the Infinite Way and Practicing the Presence., I was ecstatic to find that Joel had written scores of books. I wanted the experience Joel promises - but how does one do this? I searched high and low for an Infinite Way teacher, for any live person involved in the work, and finally found the office in Peoria, Arizona. They led me to my teacher, a close student of Joel's, Will Hoff. Today, the Internet has made finding information about The Infinite Way easier, but also more confusing. Please look for expressions of love and patience in the person you want to trust. The experience should not be about showing you how much they know, but finding ways to help you learn to meditate and begin to rely on your inner guidance and strength. The Infinite Way is about love and understanding. It is my hope that what you will learn here will help direct your studies to the illumination experience Joel wanted for you.
My personal journey is very similar to most seekers. Many of us seem to have had early interest in spiritual things, finding the truth about God and having the desire to be "home." Humanly, we come from all walks of life, from all countries, from every religious background. Sometimes illness, loss, hardship drives us to this work. Sometimes we are drawn by a deep yearning to know God aright. Whatever the path to get here, we embrace you in fellowship and invite you to join our spiritual household as we acknowledge our place in the Circle of Christhood.
Because our path is so unique as a spiritual study, it is often very difficult and lonely. The Infinite Way has no buildings, no ceremonies, no organization or leaders, no doctrines or customs, no heirarchy, ordination, no lines of successon. Teachers and practitioners can only be determined by the student and the patient. If we heal you, you can call us a practitioner. If we teach you, you can call us a teacher. Otherwise, titles are useless words. Seek consciousness which in the beginning, feels like love, kindness, forgiveness and joy.
My Infinite Way years have given me a variety of opportunities and experiences. They have served as instruction for me, and now I hope to share them with you. I have tried to present principles and facts surrounding circumstances in a forthright and accurate way. Most often Joel's quotes are the source of a principle or statement. Other lessons about The Infinite Way have come from long-time students, teachers and family members of Joel. My hope and desire is to bring you the truth and to dispel and dissolve the appearances of Error which have entered The Infinite Way community.
Over the years, many activities have come to us to begin. We started the following: first e-mail student group studying daily passages of Joel, the first IW on-line meditation room, first on-line weekly lessons, first annual on-line tape group study of all the tapes 1959 to 1964 (it will begin this again in 2007). World Work group, on-line healing ministry. Over the years, others have come to help and have taken over some of the activities. We bless them for this and share our gratitude for their on-going dedication. The IW is an activity. It inspires us to share and be of service to our fellow students.
As you read through the pages on this site, you will find many quotes from Joel's tapes. I prefer the tapes over the writings for they have the deepest consicousness. (Hear Joel explain why on tape 148 side one.) I have striven to use the Kailua tapes wherever possible to show you how the principles are presented in the first tapes Joel requests us to study. Look for a teacher who is familiar with the 1955 Kailua series and knows to introduce you to it. Seek those who meditate and can teach you meditation. Without meditation, The Infinite Way is a philosophy. Most teachers will begin with short meditations for those new to the work. As you are more studied and experienced, you can sit for longer and longer meditations. This is where the "real" teaching takes place, so do insist on this for yourself and your practice.
