1. This question says: "Will you please say something about parenthood?"
A. To me, a child is very much like a bud, a blossom.
1. It is new and fresh and has infinite potentialities.
2. And, it can be molded, not molded to my will, but spiritually molded.
B. Parenthood often seems too much of an animal emotion.
1. It does not permit the parent to be objective or to see their child spiritually.
C. To see the child spiritually means to understand the child.
1. Not as your child,
2. But as a child of God.
3. As another of the infinite forms and varieties of God Being, sent to earth with all of the potentialities of God Being.
D. If one can love their child that way, and understand that its nature comes forth from God,
1. That it was sent to this plane of consciousness not to be anybody's child,
2. But to be an instrument for good on earth.
a. As much of an instrument as Jesus Christ was an instrument, or Moses or Buddha,
b. Every child has that potentiality.
E. Understand that the child is not limited mentally by its parents or grandparents or great-grandparent.,
1. It is the offspring of God.
2. And Mind of God.
3. Its source of intelligence and wisdom is God.
F. Is to free that child from the limitation to family relationships.
G. In the same way, to raise a child without making it fear.,
1. But rather with the spiritual understanding of releasing it unto God.
2. There again parenthood, at that level, is quite a different thing than human parenthood.
H. Human parenthood is a selfish emotion.
1. Almost entirely such.
2. And one has to rise far above that in order to be able to see that:
a. We are the caretakers of children.
b. We are their providers.
c. And until such time as they can take over that responsibility, we are their guides.
I. And to be able to do it spiritually means to do it through inner communion with God.
1. It does not mean to be a dominating person dictating to them out of your human knowledge what they should do or should not do.
2. But it means, rather, to raise them with a minimum amount of talk and conversation.
3. And a maximum amount of holding them in that inner communion with the spirit.
4. Permitting them to be God governed instead of man dominated.
