The Study of Joel Goldsmith's Infinite Way

Once Your Teacher is Revealed to You

 "Few there be that enter."

"The reason is this:  There must be a sufficient devotion to God, to Spirit, to the Invisible, That which to sense is intangible.  There must be enough devotion, enough longing, thirsting, or hungering for It that one is willing to sacrifice.

"Now, the Master said, "You must leave all for me."  The Master said, "You must be willing even to leave mother, father, sister, and brother for My sake."  The Master said, "When you find this Pearl, sell all that you have in order to purchase it.  In other words, he showed very clearly that he did not believe that the Kingdom of God was to be gotten easily, lightly, through shortcuts, or with spare time, or spare change.

"It is for this purpose that, of old, they inaugurated the teaching of tithing.

"Now, you can readily understand this:  that if your teacher or your teaching were revealed to you as living in India or Tibet or California, that in some way or other you would have to make the demonstration of getting there to your teacher and your teaching.  And it would be folly to sit around crying, "I haven't enough money," or "I have to attend a wedding, or a funeral," or "I must stay home to keep my husband company."  None of this would do once it was revealed to you where your teacher is.  You would be under compulsion of going there--that it would be up to you to be so consciously one with God that all of the interferences--the lack of money would dissolve, and there would be an abundance of money--the human relationships would adjust themselves, and you would be free to go.  Everything would take place for you.

"But you would have to have the degree of devotion necessary that would make you say, "In spite of all obstacles, I am going."

Spiritual Preparation for an Infinite Way Class

Spiritual Preparation

for an

Infinite Way Class

Ann Darling Kuys*

(Original student/teacher  in Australia)

"There was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour."

The act of passing through the door of this classroom represents an act of commitment.  That commitment can best be fulfilled by letting all conversation end and silent meditation begin.

"The silence of meditation is not the silence of a graveyard; it is the silence of a garden growing.  There is no deadness in a garden, but in that all-pervading silence an intense activity is going on in the ground which will later take form as buds, blossoms, and fruit."  The Alchemy of Awareness:  Lorraine Sinkler.

While it is, of course, important that the teacher or those in charge of the meetings and classes make careful preparation spiritually, it is equally important that each student be aware of the vital part he can play in assuring that the message will come from the Spirit and that it will be received by the Spirit.

First must come the realization that we are not coming into a classroom, but we are entering a state of consciousness.  In order that the purpose of the meeting be fulfilled in healing, inspiring, illumining those who come, consciousness must be free of hate, envy, jealousy, criticism, prejudice, or self-seeking.  It must be such a consciousness of love that it recognizes the Christ-identity of all those who enter.

Then must come the realization that we are not coming together to hear a man or a woman, but to be taught of God.  In proportion as we look to the Christ, the I within, for the message, in that proportion do we free the teacher to be a transparency for the Christ.  And as Joel Goldsmith has often pointed out, when we gather in that recognition, we would receive the Message even though no word was spoken.

Finally, it should be understood that the Word of God cannot be confined to a room or a group, but that when we have "opened out a way for the Imprisoned Splendor to escape," this spiritual Splendor will bless universally, far beyond what we may ever see or know.

A class, or even a tape meeting, entails much effort, planning, expense, time and patience on the part of those in charge, and often also on the part of those who attend.  Let us remind ourselves early and often of the spiritual significance of these activities.  Really, whatever role we play, it is our gift of love to God, the Father, and to God, the Son, and it is our privilege to make the gift joyously and gladly so that the burden is light.  Then it is no longer what it humanly appears to be, done for human beings by human beings, but it is the Spirit fulfilling Itself, "world without end."
