The Study of Joel Goldsmith's Infinite Way

You Are Invited

Dear Friends,

Because this editing thing is so personal, your comments and understandings may help another see for themselves what we are teaching here. Please send us your comments or edits you discover. I will post all that apply to this topic.

Thank you,

Just to tell you inspiring I found your work on this subject. As I mentioned on my last E-mail I discovered just how hard it is to transcribe Joel's work on tape to the written page. But that being said Lorraine's is sometimes way off the beam. The most pernicious(too strong) thing for me is that her work is at times, conventionally clear. She takes words and gives them her own little spin. To the reader this makes things a bit "clearer" and they have no idea that they may be missing something in the long run. I'll try to give you an example from your comparisons to illustrate my point as I have more time.
The other thing I was thinking about is the importance of voice and how important oral transmission of teachings is to me. Most of us carry around voices in our head--voices of our loved ones, stories, reprimands. We play them back to ourselves all the time at nauseum.
I can tell just by the sound of my husband's voice how his day is going even if he is faking it. I can still hear the voice of a professor who gave me a negative feedback.
The oral tradition is so old. What do we remember from the New Testament? Parables, the beatitudes. We can almost hear Jesus' voice there. And so with Joel. His voice goes with us--his stories, his metaphors, the sounds of garbage cans on the tape and his jokes about them. I hear his voice on the tapes and it goes with me. It never wavers or seems egotistical. There is a certain pattern to his lectures and his Joelisms are part of what lays down "his" words in our memory/consciousness
So just some of my thoughts on the importance of tapes. I'm sure all this has occurred to you.I know I'm preaching to the converted. Sometimes I just seem to need to go on about something I'm passionate about...
Love,
J.R.
