Joel's Inner Confirmation for Centers
May 23, 1952 Hollywood, California to Lorraine Sinkler:
"Now I can tell you more about your own work. What I have been waiting
for is "the word"from within you see, centers all over the US have
requested Infinite Way lectures and class. It has been my experience
that we make bad friends by giving them this work because The Infinite
Way has a way of "taking over" if given half a chance and either the
center has become an Infinite Way Center - or drop the teaching
entirely. Finally, it became clear to me that we must not go into
centers or libraries where there are other teachings - but stick to our
present work in homes and small groups. Again, since most centers are
losing ground every year - several have asked me to take over and
operate them as Infinite Way Centers. We could within thirty days have
a self-supporting chain from California - across Oregon - Washington
down to Cincinnati - and probably more once it were known that I was
interested. Again, after waiting - the word came - NO.
"At present, the small home groups and tape recording groups seems to be our way of presenting The Infinite Way.
"My own inclination is to remain out of public work and have those
students who wish - come over here where teaching conditions are
ideal. And it is not necessary to wait for classes because I am always
teaching three to ten - all the day - days and evenings. Would you not
like that? Rooms at my hotel (Hotel Holiday) are very desireable. So
until further orders come - here I am.......
