Joel to Walter Starcke

Dear Student,
As you will sometime learn, this is the holiest night of my life. In the midst of most wonderful nights of revelation, you’re injected into my meditation with a statement from a recent letter to the effect you wanted something to do, some activity, something to keep you occupied, some work. The answer was given to me.
Why don’t you make me, GOD
Your activity
Your occupation
Your way of filling the time?
Why not let me fill your days
Your nights
Your mind
Your soul
Your body?
Seek not occupation or activity. Seek me.
I will fulfill you.
I will be sufficient for you and all these things will be added.
It seemed to tell me you were called to mysticism, that your whole being must be filled with God. It came to me also that our work is so little understood. They don't see that Consciousness is filled with God around the clock, that God is really my being, not a subject for classes.
It is necessary that our outer life be normal, look natural to the world view. Even though it is not understood by the world, our life must not be our own. Not ours, but His. Our being must not be our self, but Him.
He is the air we breathe
The food we eat
The sleep we sleep
The love we love
The life we live.
