QUESTIONS TO ASK AN INFINITE WAY TEACHER
In the Infinite Way, there is no ordination but by Spirit. Those in the ministry should be ones who have been called by Grace to enter this work. However, there are those who feel that reading all of Joel's books over a period of years qualifies them to lead others on the path. This may be so. I have tried to pose some questions that will help the student determine whether the person calling themselves "teacher" has a grasp of the basic foundations of the work. It is only a beginning. Many students do not know enough of the message to ask these questions. This is the most important activity of your life, it makes sense to know something about an Infinite Way teacher's understanding of the work before entering into a holy relationship with them.
We must experience their consciousness, find out if they lecture philosophy (say all the right words) or if they express and lift consciousness and if they heal. 1. Can you teach me to meditate? How often do you meditate? For what length of time?
2. What emphasis do you place on the Nature of Error? What other principles do you find are most needed by the students?
3. Have you been successful in meeting healing requests? For how many years?
4. How did you enter IW teaching? (See Beginning an Infinite Way Ministry on this site.)
5. Do you encourage students to work with Joel's tapes? How many tapes do you own? How many times a week do you listen to tape? Have you conducted a tape group? Do you teach any other tapes in addition to Joel's. If so, whose?
6. Do you consider the personal unfoldment that comes to you when working with a student to be at the same level of consciousness as that of Joel?
7. Do you consider Joel's consciousness above your own, the same as or less than your consciousness?
8. Do you understand Joel's directions to teachers and follow them? What are they? (You will find them all over this website.)
9. Do you make and/or sell your own recorded lessons? Do you call them Infinite Way teachings?
10. How do you decide when and where to conduct a class? What topics do you teach in class?
11. Do you always include Joel's tapes in your classes? Do you reference his books AND tapes in your healing and teaching work? Do you feel a different consciousness exists in the tapes? Do you understand about Sinkler editing?
12. What is your goal in teaching a student? What is the proper goal for the student?
13. Do you teach the Circle of Christhood meditation? (Something all teachers should know how to do and be familiar with.)
14. Do you personally do World Work?
(Since this is the final level of spiritual unfoldment according to Joel in Parenthesis in Eternity, exercise caution with any teacher who does not believe in World Work, who cannot define and discuss its value and purpose.)
15. If you never were paid a penny by a student, would you still teach?
16. Where in the continuum of spiritual evolution, would you place the Infinite Way? Where would you put Joel?
