Eckhart Tolle
Eckhart Tolle has recently been featured on Oprah Winfrey. On the first show, a Catholic caller asked for guidance to help incorporate spiritual principles with a Christian life-style. Tolle recommended that the student read Joel Goldsmith. Oprah then repeated the name as, Goldstein.
This single comment has directed many listeners and students of Tolle to inquire about Joel. Many want to know how to become trained to teach Joel's message - this, before even reading a book or hearing a tape. There is a great misunderstanding about Joel's message if this is the result.
There are likewise, Infinite Way students who mistakenly think Tolle is like Joel, in some cases, even better. Again, mistaken understanding of both the Tolle message and that of Joel.
You see, Tolle is a metaphysician and so cannot be similar to Joel for the primary reason that The Infinite Way teaching clearly defines and explains that the spiritual and mental realm are SEPARATE.
This misunderstanding that the spiritual and mental realm are one and the same, (taught by Tolle, Williamson, ACIM, Walter Starcke, New Thought teachings, Unity, etc.) is the reason for failure on the spiritual path.
Please do not make the mistake of mixing spiritual teachings simply because they mention absolute principles: God is within, "Now" is the only time and place, use terms such as "Christ Consciousness" - "stilling the mind" - "going within" - "oneness". These terms do not mean the same thing for metaphysicians. In time, if you remain loyal to your tape work, you will begin to recognize the differences yourself. If you are so led, you may want to find a teacher and come to a class so that you can experience the diffference and learn exactly what The Infinite Way teaches.
Do, always, remember to look for fruitage and "signs following" whenever you venture out to find a new teacher or teaching. Philosophy alone will not heal our human appearances or open the gates of heaven.
