The Study of Joel Goldsmith's Infinite Way

Recent Degeneration

As of November 2007, you should consider this site to be A Course in Miracles ACIM forum. Again, recent requests to rename the group have been refused by the entire forum. Daily passages from Joel's writings serve only to support this false activity and to confuse new students. This is not a commentary on A Course in Miracles, but a critique of the integrity of The Unofficial Infinite Way group.

One must wonder what the true agenda of those participating really is. Error is the cause, ego is the vehicle. The purpose is to destroy The Infinite Way.

Please beware.

The Unofficial Infinite Way Does Not Support Joel Goldsmith's Teachings

Simonsen's Unofficial site, does not do as it claims.

First, to use a picture of Joel is totally against Joel's wishes.  Anyone claiming to be a leader of The Infinite Way (assumed by the fact that one has a website) should know enough about Joel to honor this wish found on 1951 tape 609 side 1.

The Unofficial site is not dedicated to the principles of The Infinite Way; it does not cooperate with Goldsmith; it does not heal, and it does not meditate. A reading of the "chat room" (not supported in IW principle) will reveal a metaphysical soup discounting, diluting, and re-stating Joel over and over.

Please use caution. The Unofficial Infinite Way does not represent or teach the principles of Joel. If you are serious about your studies, forego this site and its Yahoo group.  Serious IW students should note the following:

1. At The Unofficial Infinite Way any truth teaching may be quoted or studied, for a student is free to do what they like. All are God, so all comments are viewed of equal value and standing as long as they are agreeable to the majority. Metaphysical schools are equated with The Infinite Way.

2. The site owner, Roger Simonsen, refuses to discuss or change how he operates or the name of the site. They are determined to keep things the way they are, allowing for any voice on any topic. There is a total denial that Unofficial Infinite Way has a responsibility to the integrity of Joel's message and his request to not mix teachings.

3. The Letter to Norman was ignored, mocked and argued.  (Arguments are made that are reminiscent of Lorraine Sinkler's position toward the Letter.) There is no discernment of levels of consciousness.

4. The majority of posts do not understand the meaning of meditation, meditation in a group,  that Absolute teaching is not Infinite Way, mind is not God, personalization, The Nature of Error,  healing work, world work, tape work, in short - the principles of The Infinite Way. Joel quotes do nothing but perpetuate this mistaken grasp of The Infinite Way.

5. Roger Simonsen, and others do not consider Joel's message to be sacred. Nor do they honor him in any way, for they consider this "worship" or "deification" of Joel.  (Again, arguments are made similar to those of Lorraine Sinkler's.)

6. Roger Simonsen feels he is free to use the name Infinite Way regardless of Joel's requests to teachers (Letter to Norman). Roger claims not to be a teacher, but his website and Yahoo group serve in this capacity regardless. Chris Bentley also has a website and therefore serves as a "teacher".  Neither understands the sacred trust implied. Neither supports the "Letter to Norman."

7. Metaphysical teachings like A Course in Miracles and Unity are equated to The Infinite Way without reservation or comparison.

8. No healing is ever done or mentioned.

9. Invitations to meditate are mocked and used as insult.

10. Infinite Way principles are debated and discussed as Joel taught not to do.

As an expression of respect for Joel and the integrity of the message, I  suggested that the group consider renaming the site.  They are friends who enjoy one another's company and sharing.  If they would stop representing themselves as Infinite Way, they could study any mix of teaching they wanted.

A sincere effort has been made to have them understand the importance for the future of the work and the concern  for new students to the message. It was explained that what is said will remain on the site for as long as the site exists and mistakes will not go away, but be perpetuated for future generations of students. (See Letter to Patty below.)

Any expression of devotion to the work or respect for Joel and his message has been insulted and ignored.   It has been impossible to make any positive impression.

Please join me and others in meditating for them, knowing their true identity and nature.   Likewise, we must nothingize and impersonalize, for they have no power to influence the Infinite Way, Joel's legacy, or us.  Again, error operates to disrupt and divide. It has no power.

Thank you.

Simonsen background

About five years ago, Roger Simonsen had just become familiar with The Infinite Way and decided to start a website. He contacted me for advice with his new website. At that time, I cautioned him about the name, suggesting that he choose something other than Infinite Way as the name had  been trademarked.  We talked about the work and I explained Joel's concerns about keeping the message pure and intact.   I was disappointed that after all of the effort to enlighten him, he named his site The Unofficial Infinite Way. There was nothing I could do about it except to try to be available to him and make suggestions if asked.

Over the years, the site has become a hodge - podge of metaphysics.    A Course in Miracles blends with Tolle, Lanyon, Absolutist and prosperity affirmers.  I have already posted something about mixing messages and Joel's instructions to us about that.  What a disappointment to see the lack of respect for Joel and his consciousness.

I was led to visit Roger's site two months ago.  A question about meditation by a new student to The Infinite Way prompted me to reply. I joined the group trying to participate as an equal member. As more comments were made that were totally wrong, I tried  to help by sending passages and quotes to present Joel's principles to them.  Nothing worked.

The level of ridicule and insult was truly a surprise.  Our behavior is testimony and reflection of our consciousness. So, I must suggest caution to any student considering The Unofficial Infinite Way and its supporters.  I have tried for months to help correct inaccurate statements and poor understandings. In some cases there is a complete absence of understanding of Joel's teachings. This speaks to an ignorance of Joel's many tapes and his instructions to teachers and practitioners.

Many letters have pleaded with members in the group to please only use Joel's materials for study and practice if they use the name Infinite Way in any capacity. They have needed repeated explanations and corrections. ( In a Yahoo group all voices are equal,  so the potential for misunderstanding or mis-teaching is great.) The lack of knowledge and experience there is glaring.

I very much regret the responses to sincere outreach.Throughout, I knew we were simply seeing error again operating to disrupt and divide the Infinite Way.  The assignment did bring out some very interesting points and this is what I would like to share so that all are aware of the consciousness at The Unofficial Infinite Way.
