Basically, due to the world's viewing Joel as another New Age approach, we are putting more structure into our understanding of the practice.  Certain IW practices have become neglected and so unfamiliar to new students and people thinking they are teachers because they read a few of Joel's books.  We have to do regular work to maintain the understanding of Joel's methods and practices. We hope these additions will help.

If you feel that our work is "critical" of others, please review tape 520 where Joel tells us we are not to judge humanly,  we are to see others as The Christ.  However, that does not mean we cannot or should not make corrections where we see incorrect behavior or understanding.

The following has been added to Career in IW page:

(There is rumor that he had "five" teachers, but if you look at the original 1963 Letters, month of July, he lists the following leaders around the world, none having special dispensations: Rowland Spencer-Europe, Tome Jones-South Africa, Sinkler - Chicago,Bowden Northwestern US and Canada, Stephenson - California, Will Hoff - California, Daisy Shigemura - Hawaii, U.S. , Europe, Helen Ames -Canada, Walter Eastman-Europe. Finally, on this topic, we never hear that Emma was a teacher. Yet, on the tapes, Joel share revelations, meditations and EVERY RECORDED class with her. How could she not have been a teacher?)

Added to Guest Questions:

Remember, there is "no bestowing of priesthood" in the IW.  We have very little rule or regulation.  Joel left precious little instruction for us, the most important for teachers being the Letter to Norman which states his desires in black and white.

In the IW we must think not in terms of years or decades, but in terms of centuries. A small misstep today, may lead to a series in future generations. How easy it is to change holy words. Simply look at Christian history. All of us are tempted every day. Those higher in consciousness, tempted even more severely.  There is no height we can reach which is not threatened by a fall if we are not vigilant. The key is meditation. When that stops, we have turned our back.

This is a difficult, lonely path. In the end, Joel wrote in his diary,  that perhaps anything more than one is an organization, for "not one has stood beside me." 

The IW is a lonely, difficult path. Are you prepared to give what it requires?

We will be moving some material over from a site in Finland which has cooperated with us for over ten years to bring original and hard-to-find material to you students.  These materials were listed for many years and now are found also listed on some disobedient sites,  such Roger Simonsen of Unofficial IW, after taking them from our list.

As we are able to, we will be moving these materials and trying to check them again. They were the work of a group of us, who knew to be careful about words and punctuation, staying true to the tapes. However, in haste, mistakes may be found.

You are invited to read the passages, use them for study, but if you find that you are focusing on a particular tape in print, we ask that you buy that tape to support the office in Arizona. No print material is meant to take the place of Joel.  Your cooperation will make it possible for us to continue to offer samplings to the student body. Our intent is not/has never been, to keep students from supporting The Infinite Way office, or its products.  Thank you for your understanding and integrity.

As you check your own study and those you use for help, be sure that they also have a clear, deep, and profound understanding of The Nature of Error. Any IW teacher should be able to explain, describe and impart to you a full grasp of what Error is and how it operates in your life. It is key to your growth as a student and any healing you may be seeking.

Again, please join me in blessing all.  It is not any form of indictment, it is simply to help new students not stumble and waste time if they are serious about The Infinite Way. It is not criticism, it is a reference list used only on this site.  Thank you for helping with this difficult assignment and continuing appearances of error surrounding this subject. Error wants to put the veil back on the message, and I am not willing to stand by while these attempts go unchecked.  Thanks!

Self Sacrifice and Asceticism from Halekulani Hotel Talk March 24, 1963 - Passage was found as we were doing the editing and it speaks precisely to what Starcke did when he tried to force illumination. It is so important that it had to stand alone as a topic for our regular review.

There will be more tomorrow about "leaving our nets."  We are taught not to walk away from any human responsibility. That is not what the message is about.

We need to alert readers that the talks in Consciousness Transformed by Acropolis have been changed and edited. We will endeavor to provide unedited versions here as we are able to check them. Our collection is almost complete.  However, there are some missing. We invite anyone with these originals to send them or email them to us and we will post immediately.  We cannot express how disappointing this is as we so depended on Acropolis to FINALLY produce original writings in their original form.  Alas, error just cannot stand to let us have Joel without tampering.  Most of the changes are so minor, it is almost incredulous to think anyone would make such a change. But the changes change the cadence, a slight twist or turn of the word.  Those of us who know Joel intimately through his tapes, are greatly disappointed.

Please note that this group supports a wide range of metaphysical teachings while claiming to follow The Infinite Way.

John Drewery presents himself as an IW teacher, however chooses to make tapes and publish his personal spiritual message as Infinite Way (see Letter to Norman).  Each student will have to determine if they want Joel and The Infinite Way or if they want a personal interpretation "based on" The Infinite Way.

These letters were given to me by a dear friend.  They were sent by Joel to her aunt.  Some are dated, some are not.  I will indicate all that I know about the letter.  These are originals, so I will present them here EXACTLY as produced.  If there are any errors, please know that I am doing no editing or changes whatsoever, out of principle.  You may find some of these letters in other books.

I hope that you see how beautiful these early letters are.  Joel continues to unfold for us.  His consciousness was so high from the beginning of The Infinite Way.  You will see with these early works what light, love and healing they express.  How lucky we are to have these.  How humbled we are to see that we never are too far along to outgrow the basic, early work.  No one's consciousness comes close to his, then or now.  Please join me in a meditation of gratitude for the gift of his teaching.

There are many letters, and they will be posted as I can type them for you.  Construction will continue for some time.
