Welcome to 'Joel in Three,' where we delve into the timeless insights of Joel S. Goldsmith. Each entry presents three unedited paragraphs, selected to capture the essence of his teachings. While these paragraphs may not always be in consecutive order, they are chosen to offer a coherent and inspiring exploration of his mystical wisdom.
Today’s Lecture: 0111A The Realized Christ
“Now, having witnessed that, I can say to you, that your effective work will be done, not when you are looking at some human trying to improve them, but when you have come to the place where you know they have no power to improve themselves, even if they would like to. Only the Christ can change a person's nature. Whatever human nature we have, we have either through a combination of inherited tendencies, environmental tendencies, educated tendencies. All of these things go to make up our human character, or human lack of character. Our human weaknesses and our human strengths are put into us by our ancestry, by our environment, by our educational processes, by the particular age in which we were born and developed.”
“I have seen this happen. I've witnessed it for many, many years, that some people with the first, second, third, fifth, tenth, twentieth contact, the Christ touches them and they begin to change. And they write me that they have less of fear, or less of doubt, or less of anxiety. I have some that I have to be patient with for a year or two or three, because for some reason the soil isn't fertile, and the seed of truth just doesn't spring up into fruitage. And so by being patient with them a year or two or three, I say, you know, I don't fear the way I used to, or I don't think the way I used to, or I don't respond to error the way I used to. And then you know that the Christ is doing its work in them.”
“Now, you see, it is this light which is achieved through spiritual realisation that calls forth that call. Right where we are, way out in the country, that call comes. Why? Because the light has been prepared and the ship must be drawn to that light. It is inevitable. Wherever you are as the light of the world, the world will reach out to you for that light. You don't have to go anywhere to carry it to the world. You only have to be where you are, but you must be robed. You must be in the consciousness of the Christ. Then the call comes, but the answer comes with the call. Because the call and the answer are one when they are met in Christ. When they are met in the Spirit. If a call comes to us when we are not robed, there is no answer.”
